Welcome to the world of Baseline Sports Club!

The Baseline Tennis & Padel Club is located on the Adelianos plain in Rethymno, opposite the Rithymna Beach hotel of the Aquila group. Our facilities operate 7 courts in total, built in accordance with international regulations and adequate night lighting.

Biography

Meet the Coaches

Katia Stavroulaki
Katia was born on January 3, 1994 and has been playing tennis all her life. She started when she was 7 years old and has never stopped since. Some of her achievements in her early career in Greece were: #1 in all Pan-Cretan Tournaments until 2012, Member of the Greek National Team in European Championships and Balkan Tournaments aged 14-18 and also ranked in the top 3 juniors in Greece at this age. At the age of 16 she was Pan-Hellenic Junior Champion and in 2011-12 she took part in international tournaments (ITF). In 2013 she found herself with a full scholarship in her sport to attend American Universities (UTPA and MERCER) and has graduated as a student-athlete in her school (Business Administration with a specialization in Sports) always playing in the No. 1 Division. She played all four years of her college life on the front row, both in singles and doubles and led her team to the finals several times.

Vaggelis Afordakos
Vaggelis Afordakos is 24 years old and grew up in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, where he started playing tennis at the age of 6 and continued to play at a high performance level until the age of 16. While studying economics at the University of Crete, he decided to become a tennis coach to share his love of the sport with others. For him, tennis is not only about technique, but also about the ability to push yourself and not give up. The best part is seeing his students develop and enjoy the game.

Labros Sifakakis
Labros is 24 years old and grew up in the city of Rethymnon. He is a graduate of the science department of physical education and sports of the Democritius University of Thrace. He discovered the fascinating world of tennis relatively recently as it has entered his life strongly in the last 3 years. His love for the sport led him to the decision to make his favorite hobby a profession for it and he followed the specialty of tennis coach of TEFAA of Komotini. During the last year of his studies he worked as a coach in the Panthraki tennis club of Komotini both in different age groups (from 7 to adults) and different levels.
BOOK LABROS
Thenia Pavlidou
Thenia is originally from Veria and started playing tennis at the age of 8. She is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of the Democritus University, specializing in Injury Rehabilitation. At the same time, she is continuing her studies at the postgraduate level at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly, specializing in Ergospirometry, Exercise and Rehabilitation. In the coaching field, she has three years of experience at the Panthrakikos Tennis Club of Komotini and one year at a club in Xanthi, working with children, adolescents and adults of all levels. In addition, she has completed an internship in a physiotherapy clinic, gaining substantial experience in the rehabilitation of injured athletes. She loves continuous development through practice and knowledge, while bringing to the field a combination of scientific training and competitive passion.

Georgia Pechlivanidou
Georgia is 25 years old, grew up in Thessaloniki and graduated from the Department of Physical Education and Sports (TEFAA), Democritus University of Thraki. She is a tennis coach with 5 years of experience in the field, specialising in the training ofchildren. Her professional career started at the Panthracian Tennis Club of Komotini. Her great love and dedication is coaching young athletes, creating a safe and fun environment for them to develop their skills on the court. Her goal is to inspire children to love the sport and develop as athletes and individuals.

Andreas Perpirakis
Born and raised in Rethymno, Andreas started playing tennis at the age of 7 and has recorded numerous important distinctions at the Pan-Cretan and Pan-Hellenic levels, with a top year in 2011, where he came in 1st place in Crete and 16th in Greece in the U16 category. In the same year, he led the Rethymno Tennis Club to promotion to the B’ division of the inter-club championship, by which he has been honored six times for his athletic achievements. He is a certified national-level referee by the ITF and the EFOA, a graduate in Computer & Informatics Engineering, and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration, in which he is also a PhD candidate. At the same time, he remains active in the tennis and padel world, focusing on the technical and strategic details that make the difference on the court, from racket and net selection to optimizing the performance of the athletes he works with.
